Orhan Ümmetler was born in İstanbul in 1975. After completing his primary and secondary education in 1990, he was accepted to Industrial Vocational High School Woodworking Machine Model Department. During his education, he made modeling of industrial machinery by using solid wood in his workshop.
He stepped into the world of guitar by taking classical guitar lessons in 1994. He started guitar music with Ali Sezgin. Between 1999 and 2003, he studied flamenco guitar and notation at Pera Fine Arts. In 2006, he opened his first workshop in Nicosia and started to work as a guitar maker.
Since 2013, he has participated in Lycia, Bilkent University, Uludag University, Near East University, Eastern Mediterranean University and International Istanbul Guitar Festivals. Between the years of 2014-2018, he gave seminars in Near East University and Eastern Mediterranean University in International Istanbul Classical Guitar Festivals.
In 2015, he had the opportunity to work with Andrea Tacchi, guitar maker master, in his workshop in Florence, Italy. As a result of these studies, he added new steps to his career and started making Hommage series of "Robert Bouchet Paris" guitars. Between 2015-2016, he gave lectures about instrument maintenance and repair at Istanbul University State Conservatory.
Currently Orhan Ümmetler continues his guitar productions in his atelier in İstanbul.
